Should I stick with WordPress?

I am thinking of switching to blogspot or another blog thingy (platform?  Is that what they’re called?).
I like the fact that people with blogspot blogs seem to be able to add loads of widgets, whereas with WordPress, I think you have to pay for them.
Any thoughts as to which is the best?

I originally planned to keep this blog a complete secret.  My reasoning was simple: I could use the site to rant about whatever I wanted, and reveal my inner most thoughts and secrets … and no-one in the real world would be any the wiser.
