When I’m doing it, I love it; I feel energised and healthy. But over the last couple weeks, I have completely lacked motivation to get out of the flat.
Normally it’s because I’m tired from work, even though, ironically, running makes me feel more alert and awake. It also takes up lots of time … something I’m always short of.
My plan was to start training again today … but, alas, it’s pissing down with rain out there.
So, instead, I am going to watch a trashy DVD and no doubt eat a couple of biscuits.
I had better get my arse into gear soon, though, as I have registered for the following:
- Race for Life (5km), Regents Park, 19th July (with the M.C. and two other girlies, E. and H.)
- The Great South Run (16 km), Portsmouth, 26th October (with E.)
Am I mad? Probably. But by the end of October I’ll be a toned, fit, goddess-like creature, with not an ounce of fat in sight.
Here’s hoping, anyway.

I’m going to wheel out a DVD soon too. I blame the weather.

Yay I’m not the only one. I too love running when I’m doing it, and when I’ve just done a run. But I can’t get motivated lately. Irritatingly I bought new running shoes not long ago. They are really comfy and I got them at 50% off so I’m really pleased. But so far I have run about 3k in them on the treadmill. Disgraceful!
I am fully confident that you’ll be sporting a gazelle-like toned figure by the end of the summer, SG. Maybe I need to sign up for a 5k…

Bren: yep, the weather has been shit lately, hasn’t it? Bit better today though
Lis: Thanks for the vote of confidence. Still haven’t done much running yet, though
Amy: yay!!!
