Teddy Bear 3

Absolutely ludicrous.

Teddy bear 2

Further to my post of yesterday, there is an article on the BBC website about what can and can’t be named Muhammad, which is quite interesting …
Oh, and it’s not looking good for Gillian Gibbons, as she’s now been charged with inciting hatred and showing contempt for religious beliefs.

Teddy bear

I am in agreement with Brennig on this one.  Surely any rational person would realise that the poor woman genuinely didn’t know she would be offending anyone by calling the teddy bear Muhammad.
Although I understand the reasoning behind it (i.e that images should be not be made of Muhammad to stop idolatry), what I don’t understand is [...]

Injecting clinics

I think this is a really good idea, although I’m sure there are many people who would disagree.

What’s in Stratford Girl’s bag?

Is it meme as in ‘them’ or meme as in ‘game’?  I never know, having only ever seen this word written down.  Either way, Princesse has tagged me with this very exciting one and I’ve been looking forward to writing this post all weekend …
During the week, I carry a very boring black rucksack.  Princesse was right when she predicted that it would [...]

More reports

7pm
No Spanish tonight.  Instead I am at home having a marathon SLT report-writing session.
I am going to limit the time I spend on each one to 40-45 minutes and try and get the majority done this evening.
Once I’ve caught up, I can concentrate on finding an alternative career.
Update 8pm
1 down 14 to go.
Update 10pm
Maybe it’s [...]

Una pregunta

By the way, talking of Spanish classes …
Mi profesa de español dice que no es posible de utilizar esta mañana, esta tarde, este año etc. con el pretérito indefinido (e.g.  esta mañana tomé el autobús).  She reckons you have to use the pretérito perfecto (i.e. esta mañana he tomado el autobús).
Pero, en el libro “501 Spanish Verbs” (Kendris and [...]

Stolen mobile

My mobile phone was stolen this week and I am really annoyed.
I had just got off the bus I had taken from Liverpool Street to Holborn, on the way to my Spanish class.  I had been checking my text messages on the bus and (I think) I remember putting it in the front pocket of my rucksack.
Outside [...]
