I really should be working …

… but I’m faffing around on the internet instead, as you can see:

A long overdue thank you …

… to the very lovely (and extremely funny) Mya for bestowing upon me not one but two blogging awards some time in the distant past!
The first of these is the Awesome Blogger Award.  Here it is in all its glory:

And the second one is the Thoughtful (or thought-provoking) Blogger Award - ain’t it lovely?

Mya: my apologies [...]

Facebook dilemma

I’ve become increasingly bored with Facebook over the last few weeks, and have realised that it has very little to offer me.  I occasionally send a load of fish or flowers to someone, or get poked by a ‘friend’ who I haven’t seen for a few years, but generally that’s it.  Maybe some people use it to keep [...]

I met Gerry Adams today

It was in Waterstones in Gower Street, near UCL.  He was there signing copies of his new book “An Irish Eye”, and I was in awe at meeting such a famous and influential man.  I didn’t know what to say to him apart from “fine”, when he asked “how’re you doing?”, and “it’s for my friend,  [...]

Big purple ball

I bought this last weekend, in the vain hope it would help tone my not-very-toned stomach.
Unfortunately there was no instruction leaflet with it … and sitting on it watching Coronation Street and eating biscuits doesn’t seem to be having the desired effect.
Any suggestions?

I started [...]

Light at the end of a very long tunnel?

Shhhh!! … don’t tell anyone, but I may, just may, have a new job!  (And it ain’t in speech therapy!)
I’ll keep you informed …

What the … ?

Sexy Martin “Money Saving Guru” Lewis is running a poll over at moneysavingexpert.com about whether or not we should ditch the royal family.  (His is a brilliant site by the way - link in the side bar).
At the moment of writing this, in response to the question, “Which of these is closest to your view of [...]

Procrastination

Inspired by the title of Mya’s last post, I’ve decided to write a list of all the things that have been on my mental ‘to do’ list for a while now.  Perhaps writing them down will make me get off my fat arse and actually do something about them …
1. Decide which laptop to buy; go [...]

WC1

I’ve finally worked out how to include photos in my posts without them being absolutely huge, or tiny and distorted … hence the sudden appearance of pictures on my blog.
Above is a particularly fine example of my photographic skills - a picture of some luxury toilets in Oxford Street.
What makes them so luxurious?  Well, I’ve [...]
