If I have to colour in one more teddy bear …

Teddies

Yes, this is what the NHS pays me for.  We’re having a resource-making week at work, and this is how I spent the whole day.

And it didn’t stop at teddies.  Once I’d finished the bears, it was on to their clothes.  Then their friends (big and little dolly) and their winter wardrobe.  Tomorrow, it’s musical instruments.

It was quite fun at first … listening to Radio 2 and deciding what colour hat, scarf and socks the wee folk should wear.  But there’s only so much colouring an adult can do without starting to go a bit doolally.

I reached that point at around 10.30am.  Roll on tomorrow morning!

    Eh?

I thought my job was good - cutting out monkeys and stuff - but colouring in? We only get to photocopy the colouring sheets - what I wouldn’t give to colour them in and show those snotty kids how great my creative colouring skills are!

But, why are you doing this? For the NHS? I am intrigued…

I’ve just written a humungous essay about the changing roles of NHS information professionals. Sadly colouring is still not included - grrrrs, so jealous!

Princesse - thanks for the compliment on my colouring. It took years for me to finesse my skills ;-)

Do you think by only having skinny bears I am being discriminatory? Perhaps the bears should be more representative of the WHOLE community (equal opps and all that …). Perhaps I need to draw some fatter/ taller/ shorter bears, or colour them in different colours. Perhaps we could have gay or transexual teddies too. Actually I could just make them wear the dolls’ clothes. ARGHGHH! Yes,this colouring lark has finally tipped me over the edge …

Despina/ Soph - If you fancy do some colouring/ laminating, I’m sure that could be arranged … I’m likely to be at it for a few days yet still!
