Perhaps I shouldn’t moan after all …
Well, it seems that TalkTalk might not be the worst telecommunications company after all. I’ve just read on the internet about a woman who was kept on hold by BT for a total of twenty … yes, TWENTY … hours!
Apparently she called their helpline after an engineer failed to turn up to install a telephone line and was kept on hold for 8 hours listening to piped music. Same thing the next day, and then 4 hours the day after that.
She must have the patience of a saint! I was jumping around and ranting after fifteen minutes of crappy Muzak when I called TalkTalk.
Apparently, she eventually broke down in tears because of the stress of it all. I’m not bloody surprised. Why on earth did she stay hanging on the phone for so long without calling them back? After an hour, wouldn’t you’d start to think that they’d forgotten about you and re-dial?

I think I would have hung up and hit redial. Even having to go through the infuriating “press 1″ menus would be better than being left on hold for forever.
