My new blog, part 2

No visitors yet.

I got very excited earlier when I saw that the site had been viewed 15 times … only to realise later that it had been my compulsive and clandestine viewing at work that had skewed the stats.  Perhaps a second post will encourage some traffic to pass this way?

I haven’t decided whether I am going to remain anonymous or not yet.  Part of me wants to tell all my friends and family about this little part of cyberspace that now belongs to me.  After all, I am writing this assuming that people will read it, and one way to get people to read it would be to actually tell them about it! … Yet being able to say what I really think, and generally bitch about the world is also very alluring.

But what if I got found out?  (Very possible given my current penchant for checking the site at work) …

Hmm… I’ll have to consider this carefully.  But for the moment, I think that my current need to rant about various aspects of life is gonna mean that anonymity wins the day.

You can inform your friend by word of mouth that you have a blog. They will then know your real name without you having to to tell the rest of us. As you read Petite Anglaise, you are well aware of the dangers of blogging about work. You also need to be careful when writing about people who might recognize themselves and be very upset - at least one the bloggers I read regularly lost a friend after discussing work-related things in a post.

Leaving interesting comments in other blogs is a good way to acquire new readers.

Just noticed a horrible typo. Please consider that “friend” stands for “friends and family”.
